Troubleshooting and FAQ

Troubleshooting

Tutti says it can't reach the core

The core is Tutti's background service. Run tutti status to see whether it's running, and tutti core start to start it. In the desktop app, quit and reopen Tutti; the app starts its own core.

No coding agent found

Tutti drives agents you install yourself. Install at least one, for example Claude Code, Codex CLI or Gemini CLI, sign in to it once in a terminal, then reload Tutti. Settings → Agents & models shows which agents Tutti found.

Setup or dev servers don't run

Commands from tutti.toml run only after you approve them. Look for Review setup commands on the project and approve it. Then check the session's Logs tab for the setup script's output.

Two dev servers fight over a port

Use $TUTTI_PORT (and $TUTTI_PORT_1, $TUTTI_PORT_2…) in your dev server commands instead of fixed ports. Tutti gives every session its own ports, so they never clash.

Opening a pull request fails

Tutti uses the GitHub CLI. Install gh, run gh auth login once, and make sure the repository has an origin remote on GitHub.

Windows warns about the installer

If Windows SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC", choose More info, then Run anyway. You can check the download against its .sha256 file first.

Board sync stopped

Automatic checks slow down while nothing changes and stop at a daily limit; the board says when the next check is. Use Sync now on the board, and make sure the tracker's MCP server still works in Claude Code or Codex.

The sign-in page doesn't come back to the app

Finish signing in in your browser; the app updates by itself. If it doesn't, choose Open the sign-in page again. On a machine without a browser, run tutti login --device and enter the code on another device.

Questions

Is Tutti free?

Yes, for individuals, with every feature. You bring your own agent subscriptions or API keys, so you pay your model providers directly and Tutti adds nothing on top. Companies pay per member for shared teams, central billing and admin.

Does my code leave my machine?

No. Agents run on your computer and talk to their model providers directly. Your Tutti account stores your email, your devices and your settings. Code, prompts, diffs and terminal output are never sent to Tutti.

Which agents and models can I use?

Claude Code, OpenAI Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, OpenCode and Aider work out of the box, and any other command-line agent can be added in tutti.toml. Each teammate can use a different agent and model.

Which systems does it run on?

macOS (Apple silicon and Intel, macOS 12 or newer), Windows 10 and 11, and Linux (x64 and ARM64, .deb and .rpm), as a desktop app. The core and the tutti command line tool also install with one command.

Do I need an account?

Yes. Sign in with GitHub, Google or your email the first time you open Tutti. The account is free; it keeps your devices and settings and confirms your plan. The app keeps working offline for a while and checks in when you're back online.

Will agents mess up my working copy?

They can't touch it. Every piece of work runs in its own git worktree on its own branch. Nothing is pushed, merged or deleted unless you say so, and Tutti saves a checkpoint after each agent turn so you can roll back.

Does it work with Linear, Jira or GitHub Issues?

Yes, through the tools you've already connected to Claude Code or Codex (MCP servers). Pick the server, choose the board, and Tutti mirrors its open tickets onto the project's board. When a teammate takes, finishes or gets a card approved, the ticket moves there too.

Is it only for code?

No. There are ready-made teams for marketing (researcher, copywriter, SEO, editor), sales (researcher, outreach writer) and research (researchers and an analyst). Point Tutti at any folder; it keeps each teammate's work in its own copy, just like code.

Do teammates remember anything?

Yes. Each teammate keeps notes across cards: how to run your tests, where things are, what you prefer. They add to them as they work and when you approve a card, and you can read, edit or undo them any time.

Do I need to change how my repository is set up?

No. Tutti looks at your project, recognises frameworks like Django, Next.js, Vite and Rails, and proposes a tutti.toml: dependencies, ports per agent, dev servers. You review it once, and every agent gets a working environment.

Logs

When you write to support about a problem, it helps to include the Tutti version (Settings → About), your system, and what tutti status prints. Setup scripts and dev servers write to the conversation's Logs tab.
